Health and Fitness – Kicking Some Misconceptions
Share |

Heath and fitness are some of the most underrated aspects concerning general well-being. To add insult to injury, with so much ignorance there are many misconceptions associated with both the fields. Our team has compiled some common misconceptions which have the capacity to negatively impact your health.

Misconception: Drink as much water as you can, to remove toxins for a good health.
Truth: As much can be anything. Apart from our water intake, we take water in other forms like fruits, vegetables etc. 8 to 10 glasses of water is more than sufficient. Too much of water not only causes trips to the washroom, but other problems as well.

Misconception: Exercise should be done during early mornings for a better heath.
Truth: Exercising correctly at any time of the day is fine as long as you don’t eat an hour before the exercise at least. Exercising is preferred in the morning as that forms the best time to accommodate fitness for the average human being.

Misconception: Exercise turns fats into muscles.
Truth: Fitness equipment manufacturers often target the gullible public. Fats are a type of tissue and muscles are a different type of tissues. When you exercise, muscles get stronger with a thin layer of fats (due to the lost fats).

Misconception: Only exercise burns calories.
Truth: Another very poor throw at the ‘easy to fleece’ public. Any type of movement leads to burning of some calories. Walking steps, having sex, yoga etc there are millions of things which help in burning calories.

Lastly, there is a new misconception with respect to health & fitness due to some internet based articles and blogs – people going to gyms would be required to pay less for health insurance. There is absolutely no solid proof for this one; there is no insurance company which has made such an announcement.
