Meditation is a blissful experience meant to transform your life and bring in positivity and peace. But it is more than just closing your eyes. It is necessary that the individual pays careful attention to a few basic instructions while meditating.

  • Meditation should be ideally performed early in the morning so as to ensure that you can maximum peace and tranquillity around you.

  • Be sure to devote a few minutes of your time daily to meditate at a specific time.

  • Once you have mastered the technique, you can gradually increase the number of minutes of focussed meditation.

  • Whichever position that you choose to take as per your comfort, be sure to sit upright without slouching.

  • Visualization does not entail that you pretend to see the desired object or strain yourself too much. Let it gradually appear before your eyes.

  • Initially, you may take the help of a timer or a clock to keep track of the time, but you will gradually phase out of it.

  • Even if there are several distractions around you, try to overlook them and continue with your practice.

  • While reaching the end of your meditation period, do not jolt yourself back to awareness. Come to it through a transition time.
